Hello everyone! I'm tired but can't sleep, I tried working on commissions but I'm too tired to work properly, so I did a little quick sketch and....story time!
Is a Pokemon story, but really happened to me and my sister. Hope you'll like it! ^^
(and sorry for any typo....so tired...)

-------------
As you all know, my favorite Pokemon game ever has always been the dear old Silver for GBC, but I don't play my game anymore due to the happenings explained here:[link] and, anyway, the battery is since long dead so it's unplayable.
So on June my cousin gifted me his old silver GBA SP and his Silver cartridge. I was truly happy for that, but still didn't feel like playing Silver just yet.
So I thought that I could still use it to help my Crystal Pokedex, trading to it Chikorita and Totodile, and then mayyyybe starting my own adventure on Silver.
So I gave Silver to my sister, and told her to start a new game, choose Chikorita and trade it to me, then do the same thing for Cyndaquil.
She did as I told her, but when trading we realized that our trading cable didn't work anymore...the week before we could easily trade from Sapphire to FireRed, and now...puff! Nothing.
So we decided to save the game, and trying trading again once obtained a new cable, but there was another problem: my cousin's cartridge battery was dead as well, and couldn't save. If the SP was turned off for at max. a couple minutes and then turned on te save file endured, but for anymore than that would be deleted, and the internal clock didn't work as well.
My sister offered to play the game into her GBA SP, always on and always plugged to the charger, so that we wouldn't lose the file, and while we waited for a new cable she would start her own Silver journey, since she never had a Gen2 game of her own. She picked a Chikorita, and named him Nori. With time she grew affectionate to him, and started developing some unique features for the little Chikorita; his name was due to his leaf, which is a lot darker than usual, almost a black-ish green, reminding of nori weeds, but that color was because Nori was very sick. You know, since the SP had to be always plugged to the charger, it was like Nori couldn't live without being plugged to a life machine, like he had some terminal illness. To stay true to that, my sister gave him only Special, or wide-range/distance attacks, so that Nori never should use his own body to fight. Despite it all, he was a great fighter.
July came by, and also summer holidays. We planned to stay on our hometown until September, while our mother would be back home by the end of that week. Since we had to take a plane, we planned bringing Nori with us, the charge would be enough to last on the flight, and once at our grandma's house we would immediately plug it back to the charger.
One thing didn't go as planned though; my sister had just unplugged the game, ready to put it in the purse, when our mother called for us and she forgot about it.
When she realized during the flight that she forgot Nori, unplugged, at home she started crying. It was heartbreaking for me.
I tried calming, telling her that since the SP screens were closed it was on stand-by, and it would probably last until our mother would have been back home, and that she could immediately plug it back to the charger, but she didn't believe me.
Nonetheless, I make my mother practice with my GBA SP how to turn it on, open the save file, plug it to the right charger, etc.
When mom got back home at the end of the week the game was turned off, but probably just by a couple minutes 'cause the save file was still there. You can't imagine how happy my sister was.
Once back home in September my sis immediately started playing Silver, brought Nori at lv.70+ and wiped away the Pokemon League just with him. Then we finally obtained a new trading cable, and we successfully traded Nori to the safety of my Pokemon Crystal, where he still is, perfectly healthy, and even had a baby <3
But the most strange fact of this story is the following; before my sister could start a new game to trade me Totodile as well, we experimented a bit.
Guess what? The save file never got damaged. Days, weeks, months even as of now would pass by with the SP off and the save file would be perfect, as if the internal battery was brand new. Even the internal clock was working perfectly fine! I can't really explain how it could happen. Maybe because we left the console on for such a long time? I dunno.
But I find it extremely sweet that it happened with the adorable Nori <3

And that's it! As I told ya, is 100% true and I'm still puzzled about the battery thing o.o Did it ever happened to you?

About the drawing, I wanted to include also hands in it, one pair of Nori's former trainer, taking away the needle of the medical machine, and another pair on the opposite site of his new trainer, wide open to welcome him.
But I'm just too tired and they came out all bleah, so I did the red string of fate instead. And I can't draw Chikorita to save my life.
Hope you like it! Love for little Nori would be very appreciated <3333

...all this typing made me even more tired, but I guess I'm ready to sleep now LMAO
